Welcome
A Trusted Local Team, Not a Call Centre
Call us and a real person answers the phone. Not a call centre, not a queue, and not a different sparkie every visit.
We hold NSW electrical contractor licence #452529C and full Master Electricians Australia membership. Every job gets a written quote first, and the price is agreed before any work starts.
This is a beachside surf town, and it is on our regular run week in, week out. There is more about us here for anyone who wants the detail.
What we do
The Electrical Services We Handle Across Manly

Local knowledge
Local Knowledge That Matters in Manly
The housing here comes in layers, and each layer wires differently.
Victorian terraces and Federation homes sit next to 1920s and 1930s Art Deco red-brick flats and 1960s-70s walk-up units. About three-quarters of the dwellings are apartments.
Detached houses get more common the further back from the water you go. North Steyne fronts the ocean beach and The Corso runs from the wharf down to the sand, so the blocks around them lean heavily to flats.
That mix decides what we find when the switchboard cover comes off.
Heritage terraces and inter-war flats very often still have ceramic fuses in the board. A rewireable fuse guards the cable, not the person holding the drill, and that is why a switchboard upgrade is usually first on the list.
Brick and double brick change the job again. Solid walls mean no cavity to run a cable down, so getting there is the slow part, not the wiring.
Render over brick hides the same problem. Better found before the quote than halfway through a job.
The Faults We Get Called To Most
Three faults make up the bulk of our work in postcode 2095. Here is what each one actually needs.
- No safety switches. Plenty of pre-1990 flats and houses never got RCD safety switches, not on the power circuits and not on the lights. That is a switchboard job, and not a big one.
- Renovation rewires. Older apartments and Federation homes here are constantly under renovation, and opening them up exposes wiring that should have gone decades ago. Usually a rewire.
- Strata boards under load. Older strata blocks need bigger boards to carry modern loads, plus modern metering, which is Level 2 work.
An Electrical Emergency in Manly? Act Fast
Some things cannot sit in a queue. Ring (02) 9160 7653 and a licensed electrician picks up.
- Hot plastic or a fishy smell coming off the board, a switch or a socket
- Arcing, sparks, or a loud pop as something is switched on
- An RCD that will not stay up when you push it back in
- Scorch marks, or a plate too hot to touch
- Water coming through a ceiling near lights or wiring
- Power gone in half the house when next door is fine
That last one tells you who to ring. If the whole street is dark, Ausgrid owns the problem, not your board.
Lights on next door? Then the fault is yours alone, and everything from the board inwards is our work.
Turn it off at the switchboard and keep clear. We are on call 24/7 for genuine emergencies, and emergency work is what we drop everything for.
How we work
How We Work: Quote to Compliance Certificate
Four steps. Every job goes through all of them, whether it is one socket or the whole house.
You will know the plan before we start, the price before we commit, and what got done before we leave.
- 01
Tell Us What It Is Doing
Ring us and talk us through what it is doing. We do not charge by the hour, so take your time explaining it. We book you in for a time that suits, then remind you by text the day before.
- 02
We Look, Then We Quote
A sparkie comes to you, puts eyes on the real job, and writes the quote there and then. The visit is free whether you proceed or not. The quote includes labour, materials, testing, GST and the certificate. No surprises on the invoice.
- 03
The Work, and Your Floors
Drop sheets down and the place left tidy, every time. Hit something nobody saw coming? We down tools, explain what changed, and give you a new price before carrying on.
- 04
Tested, Certified, Handed Back
Everything is tested before we sign off. Notifiable electrical work gets a Certificate of Compliance lodged with NSW Fair Trading, and we photograph the finished job and send it with your compliance report.
Why So Many Locals Choose Us
Apartments and young professionals, with owners and renters split about down the middle. That changes what you want from an electrician.
You want one you can ring again in two years, not a new one every time something trips. We work for the second call, not the first.
We Turn Up When We Say
Bookings are often same or next day, and we hold the slot we gave you.
If something puts us behind, we ring you first. You should never be the one left wondering.
The Guarantee Has No End Date
Our workmanship is guaranteed for life, with no expiry and no fine print. If something is not right, we come back and fix it at no cost.
Gear gets a 12-month product warranty on top.
Fifty Dollars Off, First Job
New customers get $50 off your first service. Quotes are free and we do them at your place, so you are not paying anyone just to give you a number.
Ask Around, Then Check Google
We have 600+ five-star reviews from Sydney homeowners. Go and read a few, because that beats anything we could write about ourselves.
Hugh's review boiled down to two things: nothing about the job surprised him, and he would have the same two blokes back.

Compliant Work That Keeps Your Home Safe
Compliance sounds like admin, but it is what decides whether the work is still safe long after we have driven away.
That is why testing and the certificate are not optional extras. Four things apply on every visit.
Wired to AS/NZS 3000
Every job follows the AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules, the national standard for electrical installations. It is not optional and it is not negotiable, and it is what testing checks against.
The Certificate You Should Get
You get a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work on notifiable work, lodged with NSW Fair Trading. If a sparkie does not offer you one, that tells you something.
Licensed, Insured, Accredited
Master Electricians Australia membership sits behind the work, and every sparkie doing it is licensed. DIY electrical work is illegal in NSW, for good reason.
If It Ever Goes Wrong
The lifetime workmanship guarantee is not a marketing line. It is why everything is tested before we sign off, and why the guarantee certificate lands with you at handover.
Licensed, insured & guaranteed
Credentials You Can Check
None of it is hard to check. That is deliberate.
Licence numbers are public, accreditation is public, and your paperwork names your own job.
Where we work
Servicing Manly, Northern Beaches and Surrounding Areas
Every one of these is Northern Beaches Council, and we are across them most weeks. Same team, same pricing, same guarantee, wherever you are on this list.

Common questions
Your Electrical Questions, Answered
Six questions come up more than any others. Straight answers below.
Anything else, ring (02) 9160 7653 and ask. A real person answers the phone.
Can you install an EV charger at home?
Yes, and nearly always it means a dedicated circuit plus a look at whether your board and incoming mains have the headroom. In a unit block, the owners corporation has to sign off as well.
How much does an electrician cost in Manly?
We do not charge by the hour: you get a free quote on site, in writing, and the price we quote is the price you pay. If we find more than the quote covered, you get a new price before we go on.
Do you offer emergency electrical work?
Yes, at any hour if it is genuinely urgent. Ring (02) 9160 7653 and a sparkie will talk it through before a van moves: burning smells, sparks and a board you cannot keep on all count.
Is my old switchboard dangerous?
A ceramic fuse board is not automatically dangerous, but a rewireable fuse looks after the wiring, not you. No safety switches means nothing stops a shock, which is the case for upgrading.
Why do older Manly homes need switchboard upgrades?
Federation homes and 1930s red-brick flats were never wired for what a modern household draws, and plenty still run rewireable fuses. Put in an induction cooktop or start charging a car, and the old board runs out of room.
Do you charge a call-out fee in Manly?
No call-out fee for quotes. We come to you, price the actual job in front of us, and that visit costs you nothing, whichever way you decide.
